After abandoning his ecclesiastical studies he went to Bordeaux University to study. He taught philosophy at the High School of Orthez (France). He also collaborated with the UZEI institution to produce a dictionary of Philosophy. He lives in Hiriburu (Lapurdi - Labourd).

He had two books on travel, Euskal Herrian bizikletari (1989) and Biziaren bazterrean (1992) published by the Maiatz publishing house. His next book, Santiago oinez (Elkarlanean, 2000), dealt with his experiences and reflections along the pilgrims' Route to St. James of Compostela.
